still raining and the roads are in poor condition, so we decided not to stray too far from the hotel and dinner in Monterosso, namely the Ristorante Via Venti . The restaurant is very small but the spaces have been exploited optimally. The decor is simple and nice and the table is also decorated.
order a drink from Cinque Terre cellar Sassarini : fresh and fruity, with good structure.
Both chose the mixed seafood appetizer, brought us a plate with different tastes: white beans with shrimp, squid with tomatoes and olives, stuffed with a muscle, Norway lobster and seafood salad with a tomato and herbs. At the center is a cup with mussels and clams. Everything is delicious and balanced flavors, except the mussels and clams that are cold and not very tasty. As a second I let myself groped by anchovies cooked with tomatoes and olives: very good, and with a fresh taste.
My husband ordered a stir-fry of squid, anchovies and prawns. The frying was done with half vegetable oil and half olive oil: the color is intense and full-bodied but not overly greasy.
Price: € 85 for two, kindly granted to 75.
Value for Money:
Good Score: 7 ½
Notes and personal considerations: this is a family-run restaurant with a simple but tasty cuisine. The main ingredients of the recipes are: oil, wine and tomatoes, while fully respecting the flavor of the fish.
