Second day of rain, we decided to go to a restaurant that has been highly recommended by friends: "From Billy" to Manarola.
Manarola is a beautiful village of narrow crevices, a complicated maze surprises visitors with unexpected glimpses of the sea to stump breath.
The restaurant is located in one of these tiny lanes and is accessed via a steep staircase .
The interior is really small, even a dozen tables, but the atmosphere is like home with the owner, who, after an initial formalities, lets go and tells of his past as a fisherman. To order a drink
Cinque Terre DOC Cantina Terre di Levante: sour and fragrant as these wonderful landscapes.
We opt for both the mixed appetizer and sea shortly after arriving in succession about fifteen samples: Seared tuna with sun-dried tomatoes all'insalata octopus, the octopus stewed with Panizza (small squares of fried chickpea polenta) with shrimp in cream of pumpkin, marinated anchovies and the inevitable sottosale, cod with beans, salmon with balsamic vinegar, sea snails , crepes stuffed with delicate fish, tuna in oil with red onions. A swirl of new and familiar flavors with bits of real culinary ecstasy.
As the second-order grilled tuna that I had been recommended by the owner and now I understand why it is very fresh, firm and cooked to perfection. It 'so good that you just need a little oil to make it unforgettable.
My husband chose the stuffed mussels: exceptional, the stuffed fish and knows not only of bread and cheese, a delicacy.
not order dessert but the owner kindly provides us with excellent home made of myrtle liqueur. Among other
a glass, sitting at a table in front of the stormy sea, savor this moment of absolute happiness.
Price : 79 €
Value for Money: more than good
Rating: 8 ½
Notes and considerations: In high season we recommend booking in advance, for both the very small size of the room, and for the opportunity to enjoy one of the two tables overlooking the sea.
